United Nations: While the Security Council is deadlocked on the killing of Iranian Major General Qassim Soleimani and its aftermath, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned that the world is facing the highest level of tensions in this century fuelled by "unpredicted decisions" by nations.

"This cauldron of tensions is leading more and more countries to take unpredicted decisions with unpredictable consequences and a profound risk of miscalculation," Guterres said in a statement on Monday.
