A woman's pursuit of love on Instagram has spiraled into betrayal and heartbreak, leading to her sitting in front of her lover's house, contemplating her life. The incident occurred in Prayagi village under Rambha police limits in Ganjam district, sources said on Friday.
The man has been identified as Sameer Tarai from Prayagi village of the district.

The woman, who had been promised marriage, was heartbroken after the man deceived her. She claimed that if justice was not served, she would resort to extreme measures, even contemplating to end her life by suicide.
Meanwhile, the man’s family has denied any accusations of mistreating her during her stay in front of their home, stating they ensured her well-being. The woman’s heartbreaking gesture, sitting in front of her lover’s house for months, has drawn social attention.
Despite the public outcry, no complaint was registered at the police station, and authorities have yet to respond. The community continues to express its concern over the distress caused by the ongoing situation.
“He (the accused man) had kept physical relationship with me on the pretext of marriage. Now, he is refusing to marry me. I have been sitting here for over a month. Behaviour of his family members towards me is very bad. They have very roughly behaved with me. Now, I want that the man should come to my front. He is repeatedly forcing me to come to the police station instead,” the woman alleged while speaking to mediapersons.
Reacting to this, the man’s sister-in-law (elder brother’s wife), Amruta Tarai, expressed, “We have never showed any rough behaviour to her. She was charging (her mobile phone) here. We have not tortured her at all. Rather, we have been ostracised by the villagers due to her. My grandmother has also died because of her.”
