Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra Jonas is making a grand comeback with SS Rajamouli's highly-anticipated flick SSMB29 (working title). Fans are excited to witness the onscreen chemistry of PeeCee with Mahesh Babu. However, not SSMB29, Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming magnum opus Ramayana could have been her comeback film. She was the first choice for a key role in the cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic. However, things didn't work out owing to her packed schedule with international projects.

Priyanka Chopra Was First Choice For...?
According to a report by ETimes, the makers of Ramayana were keen on having Priyanka Chopra onboard for a key role. However, after things didn't work, Rakul Preet Singh came on board. Reportedly, PeeCee was the first choice to play Surpanakha, Demon King Ravana's sister.
The report quoted a close source as saying, "Surpanakha is one of the main reasons the Ramayan took place. The makers were keen on having Priyanka Chopra for the same role. But things didn't work out owing to her packed schedule with international projects. That's when Rakul came on board. She fitted the role perfectly and brought intensity and a fresh take to the character.”
If Priyanka had come on board, it would have marked her reunion with Ranbir Kapoor, with whom she starred in Anjaana Anjaani and Barfi!. Sadly things didn't work and PeeCee couldn't be a part of Ramayana. However, now she is making her comeback to Indian cinema with Rajamouli's globetrotting Jungle action-adventure SSMB29, reportedly inspired by Ramayana.
