The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), which conducts ICSE and ISC board exams, is gearing up for massive reforms with introduction of Robotics and artificial intelligence as subjects.

As emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and Robotics become more prevalent, it has become essential to formulate principles to guide the safe, effective, and responsible use of these tools for student learning, read a notice of Cuttack-based school affiliated to CISCE.

Introduction Of AI, Robotics

As per the official school notice, the CISCE plans to introduce these new subjects at elementary level and will be offered in an integrated approach, where computer science will also include AI & Coding.

“Our goal is to create a learning environment where AI technologies empower rather than replace the human aspects of education. We embrace these technologies cautiously to prepare students for a future where these technologies are everywhere,” the notice read.

The school further announced that it is introducing a course on AI and Robotics for the students of classes 3 to 8. This course will be conducted by experienced trainers and will provide a comprehensive introduction to the exciting world of robotics.

Robotics education fits into the curriculum in multiple ways. The course will cover various aspects of robotics, including programming, mechanics, and electronics. Students will also have the opportunity to design and build their own robots and showcase their skills. The course will commence from this current session i.e. 2025-26 onwards, the notice added.
