Islamabad: India and Pakistan today agreed to enhance cooperation through "effective and sustained steps" to control illicit drug trade and signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost efforts to prevent the trafficking of narcotics and precursor chemicals.

Following the conclusion of two-day talks between anti-narcotics forces of the two countries, a joint statement said both sides had "agreed to enhance mutual cooperation through effective and sustained steps to control drug trafficking".
