Chandrayaan-3 Completes Lunar Orbital Move: Here Are Breathtaking Images

The Chandrayaan 3 mission is in a very important stage right now, as it is getting ready for a gentle landing on the Moon in just three days.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Sunday shared that the Vikram Lander Module of Chandrayaan 3 finished its second and final 'deboosting' operation.

This operation has moved the Lander Module closer to the Moon by reducing its orbit to 25 km x 134 km.

In the next step, the Lander Module will go through some checks inside and wait for the sunrise at the spot where it's supposed to land.

This special landing will take place on the Moon's South Pole on Wednesday.

According to ISRO, the landing is expected to happen around 5:45 pm on August 23.

If everything goes well, this will allow the Vikram Lander and the Pragyan rover to start their mission, which is planned to last for about 14 Earth days, or one lunar day.

If this Moon landing succeeds, India will be the fourth country in history to achieve such a remarkable feat.
