Veteran Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Saturday. He shared the news through an emotional message on his Instagram handle.

In Test cricket, Dhawan played 34 matches, scoring 2,315 runs with an average of 40.61. He hit 7 centuries and 5 fifties.

In ODIs, he appeared in 167 matches, amassing 6,793 runs at an average of 44.11. He scored 17 centuries and 39 half-centuries.

In T20Is, Dhawan played 68 matches, scoring 1,759 runs with a strike rate of 126.36 and hitting 11 fifties.

Dhawan’s IPL career spanned 17 years, during which he played for Mumbai Indians, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, and Punjab Kings.

He scored a total of 6,769 runs in 222 IPL matches, making him the second-highest run-scorer in IPL history, behind Virat Kohli. He hit 2 centuries and 51 fifties in the IPL.
