Starting August 15, 2025, private vehicle owners can unlock 200 toll-free highway trips annually with a new digital FASTag plan. Here's how it works.
What Is the FASTag Annual Pass: The FASTag Annual Pass is a one-time toll plan that lets private vehicles make up to 200 free trips on select National Highway toll plazas in India.
Who Can Apply for the Pass: Only private cars, jeeps, and vans are eligible. Commercial vehicles, taxis, and FASTags linked to chassis numbers cannot use this new toll exemption scheme.
When and Where Can You Get It: You can apply from mid-July using the Rajmargyatra app or NHAI website. The pass becomes valid from Independence Day 2025 across the country.
How the Toll Trips Are Counted: Each highway journey is tracked by your FASTag. Every single direction counts as a trip, and the pass expires after 200 uses or one year.
No Need for a New FASTag: If your FASTag is linked to your car’s registration number and properly installed, you don’t need a new one to activate the annual pass.
Where the Pass Is Valid: This pass works only at toll plazas operated by NHAI on National Highways. It won’t be accepted on state highways, city tolls, or parking lots.
How Much You Can Save: Frequent travelers can save big. For instance, Delhi to Chandigarh trips normally cost over Rs 3,000 in tolls, this pass covers 50 such trips at the same price.
Important Rules to Remember: The pass is non-transferable and linked to one vehicle only. Misuse for commercial trips will lead to instant deactivation.
