TV actress Jasmin Bhasin recently shared her experience with eye treatment following corneal damage. In an interview with ETimes, Jasmin revealed that her eyes began hurting when she wore contact lenses, and the pain worsened over time.
This raises concerns about eye health, so Dr. Mickey, an eye specialist, shared a video on his Instagram handle where he gives advice on proper eye hygiene while wearing contact lenses, especially if you use makeup.
He recommends washing your hands thoroughly before inserting your lenses. Apply your lenses first, then proceed with makeup. Keep your eyes closed during this process to avoid getting makeup particles into your eyes.
Dr. Mickey also addressed how long you should wear your lenses. Follow the instructions provided with your lenses, as the guidelines can vary based on the material. Generally, you should not wear them for more than 10 to 12 hours at a time and give your eyes regular breaks.
For those who spend a lot of time on digital screens, Dr. Mickey advises following the 20-20-20 rule: 20 minutes of screen time, take a 20-second break and look at something 20 feet away. Use artificial lubricants if needed, adjust your screen brightness so it is not brighter than your surroundings, and position your screen slightly below eye level to reduce strain.
