The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) often makes changes to characters for cinematic appeal in its 25 years of existence.
Many MCU heroes, and even villains, have not showcased their full potential compared to their comic counterparts.
Counting all the movies released so far, here are nine MCU characters who are heavily nerfed in the movies.
Drax the Destroyer: Drax's abilities like flight, energy projection, telepathy, and survival in space are swapped in the MCU for humour.
The Ancient One: The Ancient One's astral projection, thought projection and dimension manipulation are downplayed in the MCU for a more grounded approach.
Heimdall: In the MCU, Heimdall's extensive abilities such as superhuman senses, strength, and cosmic awareness are dialed down for plot purposes.
Vision: Vision's vast powers, such as density control, superhuman intellect, and solar energy projection, were completely toned for Avengers: Infinity War.
Doctor Strange: Doctor Strange's vast mystical abilities, like his mastery of time manipulation, reality-bending, and more complex spells, are yet to be seen on screen.
Odin: His immense powers, such as manipulating magic, cosmic awareness, and unmatched strength, are mostly absent from display in the MCU.
Ultron: Ultron's near-limitless intelligence, rapid self-repair, and cosmic-level threat potential are dialed down in the MCU.
Thanos: In the comics, Thanos wields powers like energy projection, telekinesis, force-fields, summoning the dead, and mind control.
