According to a report by Times Now, Suleyman attended Thornhill Primary School, a state school in Islington. He left Oxford at the age of 19 to establish a telephone counseling service.

His father is a taxi driver, and his mother, an English nurse, contributed to his upbringing. Suleyman has 15 years of experience in the AI field.

He co-founded DeepMind in 2010, which Google acquired in 2014. Suleyman departed from Google in 2022 and, along with co-founder Karén Simonyan, launched Pi as a consumer assistant.

The company raised $1.3 billion in June last year, with Microsoft as its lead investor.

Suleyman now heads the newly-created AI division at Microsoft.
