IAS Officer Salary Structure; Know Who Is India's Highest-Paid Civil Servant

After graduating, many students prepare for the UPSC exam, with some successfully securing IAS positions, the highest rank in the UPSC hierarchy.

For an entry-level IAS officer in India, the basic salary is Rs 56,100 per month. This amount does not include additional allowances such as HRA, DA, and TA.

Following the guidelines of the 7th Pay Commission, an IAS officer's in-hand salary remains at Rs 56,100 per month.

The highest-paid IAS officer in India holds the position of Cabinet Secretary, with a monthly salary of Rs 2,50,000. This corresponds to Pay Level 18.

The salary structure for IAS officers varies as they progress in their careers. Starting from Pay Level 10 at Rs 56,100, it increases to Rs 67,776 in Pay Level 11, and further to Rs 78,880 in Pay Level 12 and so on.

As officers climb the ranks, their salaries continue to increase. The highest level is Pay Level 18, where the Cabinet Secretary receives a salary of Rs 2.5 lakh per month.

Currently, the highest-paid IAS officer in India is Rajiv Gauba, who serves as the Cabinet Secretary. He will hold this position until August 30, 2024.
