The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the low pressure area is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression over central parts of South Bay of Bengal around November 19.
Semiliguda town in Koraput district witnessed the coldest night of the season on Tuesday. The southern town recorded night temperature of 6.4 degree Celsius.
The IMD said a low pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood today (November 16, 2022).

India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday said G.Udaygiri in Kandhamal district recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees yesterday.
As per the IMD, a trough runs from the cyclonic circulation associated with Low Pressure Area over to Southwest Bay of Bengal in lower levels.
The IMD has predicted formation of a fresh low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining Andaman Sea around November 16.
In its forecast issued yesterday, IMD said that the current well marked low pressure area lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of northeast Sri-Lanka off Tamil Nadu coast with the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to upper tropospheric levels.
The IMD on Thursday predicted heavy rainfall activities in several parts of India under the influence of the low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri-Lanka coast.
As per IMD, the low pressure area is likely to become more marked during next 24 hours.
There will be a considerable decrease in the night temperature from November 12, informed the IMD’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. There is no possibility of significant change in night temperature for the next two days in Odisha but temperature will drop by 2-3 degrees during the subsequent two days.
The weathermen also predicted that there will be dry weather condition from 8.30am of November 10 to 8.30am of November 14. For farmers, there is no warning for the next 24 hours.
As per IMD, the system is very likely to move north-westwards towards Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts during November 9 to November 11, 2022.
The IMD has also issued an alert for shallow to moderate fog in several parts of the state in the next 24 hours.
