A breathtaking wildlife moment from Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve has taken the internet by storm, capturing the raw unpredictability of life in the wild. A tiger’s narrow escape from a crocodile attack near the Ramganga River has left viewers stunned, proving that in the jungle, survival often comes down to a split second.
The dramatic incident unfolded in the Dhikala Zone of Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh, a region famed for its rich biodiversity. Tourists on a jungle safari witnessed the tense encounter and managed to capture it on video. The footage shows a tiger calmly approaching a water body to quench its thirst, seemingly unaware of the hidden danger beneath the surface.

According to reports, a crocodile lay perfectly camouflaged underwater, waiting for the right moment to strike. As soon as the tiger’s paw touched the water, the crocodile lunged forward in a swift ambush. However, the reptile revealed itself a fraction too early. Displaying remarkable reflexes, the tiger sprang back instantly, escaping the attack within seconds.

The gripping video was later shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve Director Saket Badola. “Inside the forest, life moves in a flash,” he wrote, emphasising how constant alertness is key to survival. He added that in the wild, the future is shaped not by reputation or past strength, but by courage and awareness in the moment.

The video quickly went viral, drawing widespread reactions. While some viewers called it a “jump scare,” others remarked that the crocodile unintentionally warned the tiger of its presence.
