A video showing USA men’s cricketers relishing Mumbai’s iconic street food, paani puri also known as golgappa has taken social media by storm. The clip features players wearing USA team jerseys enjoying the popular delicacy at a roadside stall, instantly winning hearts online for its “pure desi vibes”.
The video prominently shows the USA’s middle-order batter Aaron Jones along with players of South Asian origin such as Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Utkarsh Srivastava. For many viewers, the sight of these cricketers some with Indian roots enjoying a beloved Indian snack added to the charm. The players appeared to thoroughly enjoy the treat, going all out on the paani puri feast.
When and Where Was It Shot?
The clip was widely believed to have been filmed in Navi Mumbai, where the USA men’s team was present to play a warm-up match against India A on Monday, February 2, ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. This assumption further fuelled its viral appeal.

The Truth Behind the Viral Video
However, the video is not from the USA team’s current visit to India. It is an older clip from early 2025, when USA cricket authorities had sent a squad to India for a training programme ahead of an ICC CWC League 2 assignment. The footage was shot in Anand City, Gujarat, where the team trained at a BCCI-accredited facility before facing Namibia.
Social Media Reactions Pour In
Despite the clarification, the clip continues to delight viewers. Comments like “Pure desi vibes” and “Asian vibes working here” flooded social media, while one user joked, “Just make sure they don’t get a stomach issue afterwards.”
