Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV, shared his fondness for Odia cuisine and the iconic Rasgulla during his appearance at OTV Foresight 2026, held in Delhi on Tuesday. The senior journalist made the remarks during a candid interaction that has since gone viral on social media.

During the conversation, Arnab was asked whether he had ever had Odia cuisine. Responding with characteristic candour, he said, “There is not much difference between Assamese and Odia cuisine. But, if you invite me, I will. I want to come to Puri soon, so when I come there, I will definitely try Odia cuisine.”

Rivalry Between Odisha & WB

The discussion also touched upon the long-standing and light-hearted rivalry between Odisha and West Bengal over the origin of the Rasgulla. When asked which side he supported in the debate, Arnab offered a balanced and humorous response.

“I'm married to a Bengali, so I have to be on Bengal side. But, I know that Odia food and Odia Rasgulla's have no match. So, I have to be balanced in this. I think the origin is from Odisha…,” he said, triggering applause and smiles among attendees.
