The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, drew millions of devotees to the sacred banks of the Ganges. Amid chants, rituals, and spiritual fervour, one unexpected face dominated social media conversations- Harsha Richhariya, soon dubbed the “Most Beautiful Sadhvi.”

The Revelation Behind the Robes

Harsha Richhariya was soon identified as an Instagram influencer with a background far removed from ascetic life. Addressing the speculation, she revealed that she was a disciple of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar, aged 30, and had embraced the religious path two years earlier.

Explaining her decision, Harsha shared that spirituality gave her inner peace and purpose. She also stated that her presence at the Maha Kumbh was driven by her search for “Moksha” (salvation).

As the Maha Kumbh completes a year, Harsha has now announced a dramatic shift, she is stepping away from the religious path and returning to the glamour world. In a recent video, she officially shared her decision, stating, "Jai Shri Ram, Prayagraj Maha Kumbh 2025 se shuru hui ek kahani jo ab khatam ho rahi hai, ya ab khatam hone ko hai. Iss ek saal mein bahut sari virodh ka Maine samna kiya hai."

Facing Opposition and Emotional Turmoil

Harsha further spoke about the constant resistance she faced after the Maha Kumbh. She admitted that she initially believed the criticism would fade, but the opposition persisted throughout the year.

Expressing her pain, she said, "Main kya kar rahi thi, mein koi galat kam nahi kar rahi thi, mein chori chakari nahi kar rahi thi, mein loot pat nahi kar rahi thi, mein balatkar nahi kar rahi thi. Lekin, mein jo bhi Dharam ke raste pe kar rahi thi, usse bar bar roka gaya."

She also addressed allegations that she earned crores through religious activities, clarifying that she is, in fact, dealing with financial debts.

Revealing details of her past, Harsha shared that before choosing spirituality, she worked as a professional anchor and enjoyed substantial earnings, including international travel.

Online Backlash and Identity Debate 

Ever since her influencer background came to light, Harsha has faced relentless trolling. Critics accused her of misleading devotees and even questioned her appearance, alleging she used fake dreadlocks or matted hair (jatta) to fit the image of a sadhvi.
