Bihar youth goes viral for politely urging train passengers not to litter
A heartwarming video of a young man from Bihar politely asking train passengers to stop littering has gone viral online. His calm, no-fuss appeal has been widely praised for its sincerity and clarity.
Instead of shouting or organising a dramatic cleanliness drive, he simply stands in the aisle and makes a humble request. “One minute, everyone here… if you are using your phone, please switch it off for two minutes and pay attention,” he begins, speaking with calm authority. He reminds passengers that the government has given us this train and urges them to carry a small bag to collect their waste.
'India is dirty because of our habits'
Pointing out common habits, he says, “All the people coming here to sell goods, we buy them, but then we throw things down. Is this the right thing to do? … Instead, people often say, ‘India is dirty, Bihar is dirty.’ But it’s because of our habits.”
The video has sparked widespread appreciation online. One user wrote, “Truly inspiring! This young man from Bihar shows that real change doesn’t need noise, just awareness and action.” Another commented, “We need more people like him in every state, every city, and every locality. Great job! Real change begins with individuals who take responsibility instead of blaming others.”

Some viewers noted practical challenges, with one saying, “The dustbin allocated to each compartment is very small… It’s a task to manage the trash while traveling.” Despite this, the youth’s message of civic sense continues to resonate, inspiring discussion and reflection across social media.
