5th-grade girl dies while playing with friends at school, heart attack suspected
A tragic incident unfolded at a private school in Rajasthan’s Nagaur when a 5th-grade girl student collapsed while playing with her classmates and later died, officials said. The heartbreaking moment was captured on the CCTV cameras installed on the school campus.
According to preliminary reports, the young girl was playing with friends in the school premises when she suddenly fell to the ground and became unresponsive. Teachers and staff rushed to her aid and quickly informed her parents, but medical help could not revive her.
Suspected Cardiac Arrest
Doctors at a nearby hospital indicated that a suspected cardiac arrest could be the cause, though the exact medical cause is still being investigated. The school administration confirmed that the CCTV video shows the child actively engaging in play moments before the collapse, with no visible signs of distress.

Similar Tragedies Across Schools
Incidents involving sudden cardiac events in children have drawn attention in recent years. Similar tragedies in schools across India have led to increased calls for mandatory health screenings and availability of emergency medical support, including automated external defibrillators (AEDs), on school campuses.
School authorities have said they are cooperating with local police and medical examiners to determine the exact cause of death. Parents in the community are calling for greater emphasis on routine health check-ups and readiness to respond to medical emergencies in schools.
