The Regional Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar informed that the trough in easterlies from Southwest Bay of Bengal (BoB) off North Sri Lanka Coast to Central parts of North BoB, currently runs from Sri Lanka to West Central BoB off Andhra Pradesh coast.

Owing to the same, the MeT Centre has forecast rainfall or thundershowers in some parts of the state till December 11.

Between December 9 and 10, there is a forecast of light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Similarly, between December 10 and 11, light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers are very likely to occur at various places over south interior Odisha, Gajapati and Ganjam.

During the period, dry weather is very likely to prevail over rest of the districts in Odisha. For the next 24 hours, Bhubaneswar is likely to witness generally overcast sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower. Night temperature in the capital city is likely to remain around 20 degrees Celsius.
