The Bhubaneswar centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that the low pressure area over Northwest and adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal (BoB) now lies over West Central and adjoining Northwest BoB. The low pressure currently lies off North Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha coasts.
For the next 24 hours, the MeT Centre forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places over the districts of South Odisha. There are also chances of light to moderate rain or thundershowers to occur at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and over few places over North Interior districts of Odisha.
During this period heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri for which an yellow warning has been issued.
Similarly, yellow warning has been issued on account of expected thunderstorm with lightning activity over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Boudh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur.
