Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal, a low pressure area has formed over southern parts of Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood, informed the Bhubaneswar Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
For the next 24 hours, the MeT Centre forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers which are very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.
However, the MeT sounded a 'Yellow Warning' for heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next 24 hours, over four districts namely - Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Dhenkanal. During the same period, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of the state.
These districts are - Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul and Jharsuguda. Meanwhile, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur over the districts of Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Boudh, till September 22nd.
