A well-marked low pressure now lies over western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood, informed the Indian Meteorological Department. The low pressure area formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal area of west Bengal on September 28th morning.

Later by September 28th evening, it intensified into well marked low pressure area. As far as weather outlook for next couple of days is concerned, light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of North Odisha and at many places over the districts of South Odisha till September 30.

The IMD has also issued Orange warnings for two districts including Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj which are expected to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall. Along with that, yellow warning has been issued for Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, and Dhenkanal .

Similarly, for the subsequent 24 hours, yellow warning has been issued for Sundergarh, Jharsuguda and Bargarh districts over expected heavy rainfall.
