The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall at most places in 20 districts of Odisha for the next few days under the influence of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. As per the forecast, torrential rain (7-11 cm) accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely at isolated places in the 20 districts.
The system is likely to trigger heavy rainfall till September 26 in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati districts.
Besides, thunderstorms with lightning may occur at isolated places in Nuapada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Rayagada.
Yellow Warning has been issued in different parts of the state for the next two days.
As per the weather forecast, thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely at isolated places in the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh during the next 24 hours.
For the subsequent 24 hours, heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jajpur.
