India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued an Orange Warning for thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind in six districts of Odisha for May 7 and 8. These districts are Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Ganjam, Gajapati and Kandhamal. Moreover, the Bhubaneswar based regional Meteorological Department has issued Yellow Warning for lightning, thunderstorm and wind in as many as 14 districts of Odisha. As per the prediction by IMD, several parts of the State will witness rainfall triggered by Nor’wester till May 10. Under its impact, daytime temperature in most parts of the State will record a fall by four to six degree Celsius in the next three to four days. Light to moderate thunderstorm with gusty wind speed reaching 40- 50 kmph, lightning and light to moderate rain is likely to affect some parts of districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Bolangir in next three hours, the Met dept forecast.
