The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued yellow warning for heavy rainfall in Odisha owing to formation of a cyclonic circulation over Bay of Bengal.
As per latest weather reports, the cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of North Odisha-West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts is tilting south westwards. Heavy rainfall is likely to lash some places over the districts of Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bargarh, Nuapada and Bolangir in the next 24 hours.
Moreover, light to moderate rain or thundershower is expected to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha on September 21. In the subsequent 24 hours, light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at few places over districts in interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha.
Similar weather condition is likely to prevail in some of the districts from September 23-24. Weather expert Umashankar Das said that the intensity of the showers would decrease gradually.
