Cyclonic storm ’Gulab’ is approaching the coast faster and is expected to hit the coast much earlier than anticipated. While it was initially predicted that landfall will be around midnight and the process would commence after 9PM, latest reports from IMD DG Mrutyunjay Mohapatra suggest that the landfall process will begin around 6PM in the evening.

As per the latest bulletin of the IMD, at around 3:30PM, Cyclone Gulab lay centred about 105 km east-northeast of Kalingapatnam and 100 km east-southeast of Gopalpur. It will travel at a maximum sustained wind speed of 75-85 kmph gusting to 95 kmph, around midnight on Sunday.
