The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has cancelled as many as 28 trains in view of cyclonic storm Gulab which is likely to make landfall between Kalingapatnam of Andhra and Gopalpur in Odisha around Sunday midnight.

Apart from this, routes of several other trains have been diverted while some have been rescheduled. The trains that have been cancelled on 26th September include Bhubaneswar-Bangalore Prashanti Express, Bhubaneswar-Yesvantpur Special, Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam Special, Visakhapatnam-Bhubaneswar Special, Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad Visakha Special, Bhubaneswar-Tirupati Special, Puri-Gunupur Special, Puri-Chennai Central Special, Gunupur-Visakhapatnam Special, Visakhapatnam- Gunupur Special, Bhubaneswar-Palasa Special, Visakhapatnam-Tata Special, Visakhapatnam-Korba Special, Korba- Visakhapatnam Special, Sambalpur-Nanded Special, Raipur-Visakhapatnam Special, Visakhapatnam-Raipur Special, Visakhapatnam-Rayagada Special, and Rayagada Guntur Special.

Similarly, Tirupati- Bhubaneswar Special, Gunupur-Puri Special, Chennai-Puri Special, Palasa-Bhubaneswar Special, Tata-Visakhapatnam Special, Nanded-Sambalpur Special, Rayagada-Visakhapatnam Special, Bangalore-Bhubaneswar Prashanti Special and Yesvantpur-Bhubaneswar Special will remain cancelled for 27th September. In addition to this, it has been decided to cancel, divert, reschedule more pair of trains which are originating, terminating and passing through Khurda Road-Visakhapatnam Railway jurisdiction. Bhubaneswar-Jagadalpur Special & Bhubaneswar-Junagarh Road Special from Bhubaneswar and Rourkela-Gunupur Rajyarani Special from Rourkela have been cancelled on September 26. Similarly, Jagadalpur-Bhubaneswar Special from Jagadalpur, Junagarh Road-Bhubaneswar Special from Junagarh Road and Gunupur-Rourkela Rajyarani Special from Gunupur have been cancelled for the next day. Several other trains have been diverted and few others rescheduled in view of the prevailing situation.

The East Coast Railway has taken all necessary precautions and intensive and extensive patrolling in the areas likely to be affected are being ensured and monitored.
