The wait is finally over! 5G services will be rolled out in 13 cities of India (including 4 metros) in 2022. The cities that will get 5G services in the beginning are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune. No city from Odisha has been selected for availing the 5G services in the first phase. Leading telecom service providers in India Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea, have already established 5G trials sites in the aforementioned cities. Department of Telecom is seeking TRAI recommendation for auction of 5G spectrum and bands for Public and Private 5G networks.
