Mamita Meher Murder: Lathi-charge On Protesting BJP Workers During SP Office Gherao

Tension prevailed during an attempt by BJP activists to gherao Keonjhar SP office on Monday. Demanding justice for murdered lady teacher Mamita Meher and other crimes in the district, the BJP members took to the streets. A scuffle broke out between the protestors and police as the agitators reportedly tried to barge into the SP’s office. Police had to resort to lathi charge to disperse the crowd. Some protestors were reportedly injured in the scuffle.
