During her meeting with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi this evening, Lipika accused the police of acting at the behest of former BJD Minister of State (MoS) Home, suggesting that her father’s death was orchestrated to suppress the case.
She alleged that police misconduct was influenced by political directives. Along with her mother, Lipika called for a thorough investigation, personally meeting the Chief Minister.
Lipika requested the CM for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the case. After hearing her grievances, the Chief Minister reportedly assured her that appropriate investigations would be conducted.
Speaking to the media after meeting CM Majhi, Gobinda Sahu’s daughter said, “My father did not murder the teacher. The person who killed her also killed my father. We have been denied justice by the previous (BJD-led) government. So, we met the Chief Minister and demanded a CBI probe into the case.”
“My father was made a scapegoat. The police, acting on the directives of erstwhile MoS, had hatched a plan and accordingly killed my father inside the jail to suppress the case,” the prime accused’s daughter stated.
The CM has assured us to order an inquiry, Lipika Sahu expressed.
No official response has been received yet from the police or the Opposition BJD regarding Lipika’s accusations.
Worth mentioning, Gobinda Sahu, key accused in the 2021 murder in Kalahandi district, reportedly died by suicide inside the Kantabanji Sub-Jail in Bolangir district in December 2022. He was previously lodged in jail for the alleged murder of Mamita.
