They say if there is a will there is a way. The saying perfectly fits Ganesh Baraiya from Gujarat. He is just 3 ft tall, but it didn’t stop him from pursuing his passion. He battled all odds to become a doctor and serve the patients. It is claimed that Baraiya is potentially the world’s shortest doctor. His struggle in life began right from his birth. However, he defied all odds, studied well, and cleared the entrance exam for MBBS. In spite of getting good marks in the entrance exam, he was allegedly denied admission to MBBS due to his height. A determined Ganesh knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court and won the case. Now, an intern at Gujarat’s Bhavnagar Hospital, he is proud of himself and has dedicated his life to the service of his patients. A farmer’s son, Ganesh Baraiya’s determination to become a doctor despite several challenges exemplifies resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Dr. Ganesh’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the triumph of the human spirit.
