The Parliament has passed three revised Bills to replace the existing British-era criminal laws or the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and the Indian Evidence Act. 3 criminal law amendment bills passed in Lok Sabha. The IPC is replaced by the Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita Bill, 2023; the CrPC of 1973 is replaced by the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha (Second) Sanhita, 2023 and the Indian Evidence Act of 1872 is replaced by the Bharatiya Sakshya (Second) Bill, 2023. Technology used to make Indian justice system most advanced in the world. While introducing the revised Bills, Home Minister Amit Shah said, “With the use of technology, efforts have been made to make Indian justice system the most advanced in the whole world.
