South Superstar Rajinikanth received the Dadasaheb Phalke award, the highest honour in Indian cinema. The actor received the prestigious award from Vice President Venkaiah Naidu at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Monday.
The veteran actor has dedicated his award to ‘producers, directors, film fraternity and fans.’ As per reports, Rajini attended the award ceremony with his wife Latha, daughter Aishwarya and son-in-law Dhanush, who also won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Asuran.
Earlier this year, a jury comprising singers Asha Bhosle and Shankar Mahadevan, actors Mohanlal and Biswajeet Chatterjee and filmmaker Subhash Ghai had selected Rajinikanth for the honour.
