The farmers protesting at the borders of the New Delhi have finally ended their year-long agitation as Centre agrees to their demands.

The BJP-led government accepted all their demands, including withdrawal of agitation-related cases of farmers and compensation to all families who lost their lives during the agitation.

Protesting farmers have received a letter from the Govt of India, with promises of forming a committee on MSP and withdrawing cases against them immediately. As far as the matter of compensation is concerned, UP and Haryana have given in-principle consent, the letter mentioned.

Lakhs of farmers launched agitation last year on 26th Nov in protest against Centre’s new farm laws.

On Nov 19 this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to repeal the three farm laws and subsequently it was repealed on the 29th Nov during the Parliament’s winter session.
