Amid severe rise in air pollution levels in the national capital, the Delhi government has announced early winter break in schools. The education directorate issued an order in this regard on Wednesday stating that in the wake of implementation of Graded Response Action Plan-IV measures due to Severe+ Air Quality prevailing in Delhi, the winter break for the session 2023-24 has been preponed so that schools can be totally closed and both children and teachers can stay at home. The government was forced to take this decision also in view of IMD prediction which saw that there’s no respite from such adverse weather conditions in the near future. Therefore, all schools will remain closed for Winter Break from November 9th till November 18th. The directorate has asked heads of schools to convey this information to parents immediately. Further orders regarding the remaining portion of Winter Break will be issued in due course of time.
