In a big relief for the Aam Aadmi Party, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged excise policy case till June 1st. While Kejriwal is allowed to campaign for Lok Sabha Elections 2024, the top court has set six conditions for the interim bail. The six conditions go like this: 1. The Delhi Chief Minister has been barred from visiting his own CM office as well as Delhi Secretariat during the time of interim bail. 2. While granting the bail, the Supreme Court asked him to furnish bail bonds of ₹50,000. For the unversed, bail bonds refer to a document stating that an amount of money has been paid to allow a person who has been accused of a crime to remain free until the trial. 3. Kejriwal is also obliged by the conditions, ensuring that he will not sign any official documents or files unless deemed necessary. If something comes on urgent basis, the Delhi CM is required to obtain clearance approval from Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. 4. AAP Supremo, who walked out of the Tihar Jail after spending 40 days in judicial custody, is prohibited from making any comments in connection with case regarding his involvement in the Excise Policy Case. 5. Kejriwal is also barred to interact with any witness or sources involved in the case and accessing the files regarding the ongoing proceeding of the matter. 6. On June 2nd, Kejriwal will have to surrender and go back to jail as per the bail condition. In his first reaction, Kejriwal thanked Lord Hanuman and sought people's support to end alleged "dictatorship" in India. He will on Saturday carry out a road show in Delhi. His wife Sunita Kejwiwal has also said, that this is victory of Democracy. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the people of the country will be reminded of excise scam, every time Kejriwal will go for campaign.
