Over a hundred organisations in India including national political parties and several trade unions are likely to join the Bharat Bandh, called by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) on September 27. The Bandh is mark of protest against the ‘Centre’s Farm Laws and other policies implemented in the country.’
According to All India Kisan Sabha president, Dr Ashok Dhawale, the decision for nationwide shutdown was taken at a state-level meeting of all the groups which was held in Mumbai on Monday (20th September).
More than 200 leaders of 100 organisations had participated in the meeting. The meeting called upon all organisations in the state and elsewhere to mobilise supporters and make all efforts to ensure the 'Bharat Bandh' a success.
In order to make the Bandh successful, Left parties, Congress, and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) got together at Andhra Pradesh's Communist Party India (CPI) office on Wednesday (September 22).
The Maha Vikas Aghadi has also lent support to the Bandh on September 27.
The All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AlBOC) has also extended its support to the 'Bharat Bandh' called by the farmer group.
Meanwhile, seven political parties including Congress, CPI, and CPI-M launched a protest at Master Canteen square in Bhubaneswar (Odisha) against inflation and three farm laws.
The agitating parties have threatened to extend support to Bharat Bandh call if the issues were not addressed.
