This joy and celebration is quite uncommon in Burudi village under Thakurmunda of Mayurbhanj district. But it was moment of great pride for this village to welcome back its son, who served in the armed forces.
These grand celebrations were for Chandra Mohan Tudu who received a rousing welcome after returning from 17 years’ of service.
People in large numbers turned up to welcome Chandra Mohan and the villagers washed his feet and placed garlands on him, chanting ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Jai Jawan’.
