Another instance of a pregnant woman being carried on cot surfaced from Malkangiri's Swabhiman Anchal. On Wednesday (September 29), a woman from the bordering areas of Khajuriguda experienced labor pain.

Her family members called 108 ambulance services to avail medical facility from Janbai hospital. Due to lack of motorable road, the ambulance could not reach the patient's home and had to halt few kms away.

Without any other option, the villagers had to carry the pregnant woman on the cot for 10kms to reach the ambulance. However, the woman reportedly delivered a baby before reaching the ambulance. Later, both the mother and her baby were admitted to Janbai Hospital and are stated to be healthy.

This is not the first incident of an ambulance failing to reach patients' home due to absence of motorable road.
