The Odisha Government recently announced 25 percent salary hike, Employees provident Fund (EPF) and Employees State Insurance (ESI) for outsourcing employees. However the situation at MKCG hospital in Berhampur tells a different story.

The outsourcing employees of MKCG on Monday staged protest demanding EPF and ESI services for them. The employees staged demonstration inside the hospital raising slogans about their demands. The employees’ said that they are not paid salary on due date and no steps has been initiated to process their EPF and ESI benefits.

The employees alleged that despite repeated complaints before the concerned administration, no action has been taken yet. The protesting employees also alleged that they are being threatened with dismissal from service for raising their voice. Amid protests, the patients visiting MKCG hospital faced a lot of issues in availing healthcare services.
