Action After Ragging!
After a ragging incident was reported from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) on September 22, action has been taken against as many as 12 students. The disciplinary Committee of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) has suspended two students for two years and 10 others for one year.
As per reports, a third year B.Tech student was allegedly ragged and thrashed by some fourth year students inside the hostel. After the incident came to the fore, the anti-ragging cell of the university and Dean Students' Welfare association lodged a complaint.
After the complaint, an internal probe was initiated into the matter. During investigation, all the 12 accused students reportedly confessed about their involvement in the incident.
Subsequently, the disciplinary committee called a meeting on Wednesday (September 29) with The Registrar, Vice-Chancellor and 31 Professors of the university. The involved students have been asked to leave the campus immediately.
Moreover, they have been warned of permanent termination if they were found indulging similar activities in future.
