Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently handed over appointment letters to 6131 teachers in one batch, as part of state’s school transformation programme. These teachers would be posted in 1075 schools which underwent a transformation in the first phase.

If latest reports are anything to go by, with the government planning to transform all government and aided high schools in phases, more recruitment is in the pipeline. After attending a programme in Puri, Odisha school and mass education minister Samir Ranjan Dash informed media that very soon the government will publish a fresh advertisement inviting applications from interested and eligible candidates for 7400 vacant teacher posts.

The minister said, "On December 17th, Chief Minister distributed recruitment letters to 6131 eligible teachers. In the coming days, most probably on December 21, another advertisement will be issued for filling up 7400 teacher posts. This is a golden opportunity for those who were ineligible during the previous recruitment. Government is making all efforts to fill up vacancies in every school".
