Odisha’s Amrit Pradhan Breathes His Last Despite All Possible Aid For Treatment

Amrit Pradhan, the youth from Odisha’s Berhampur who had been undergoing ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) treatment in Chennai for the last few months breathed his last on Tuesday night.

Severely affected with post Covid complications, Amrit recently underwent a lungs transplant surgery as his lungs did not heal after ECMO treatment.

Amrit, a graduate of CET College in Bhubaneswar, had tested positive for Covid-19 in May and was later diagnosed with pneumonia and septicemia. He was initially admitted to AIIMS but after his health condition deteriorated, doctors suggested ECMO treatment to save him.

Following this, Amrit’s sister requested people for financial help on social media and funds were mobilized through crowd funding on online platforms. Several organizations of the state also donated money for Amrit’s treatment.

After getting confirmation of bed facility at a private hospital in Chennai, Amrit was airlifted to Chennai and was undergoing treatment there since then. Unfortunately, Amrit lost his life battle on Tuesday.
