Demanding fair evaluation of Plus 2 examinations, an ex-regular girl student attempted suicide on Monday (September 20). The protesting student slit her palm in front of Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Bhubaneswar.

After the incident, the injured girl was rushed to a hospital for necessary treatment. The student who hailed from Ganjam was among other dropouts and ex-regular students who launched a protest over alleged disparity in Plus-2 exam evaluation this year.

Earlier on September 6, hundreds of dropouts and ex-regular students staged demonstration in Bhubaneswar alleging unfair evaluation in Plus 2 examinations. The students demanded that evaluation should be done on the basis of Matric results as it was done for the regular students.

Meanwhile, the CHSE officials have reportedly said that they will look into the matter after the students submit their grievances in writing.
