A jail inmate in Chhatrapur of Ganjam district has garnered appreciation for his art work inside the prison. The inmate identified as Chittaranjan has beautified the walls of the jail premises with paintings of gods and inspirational personalities with awareness messages.

Along with that, Chittaranjan earns money by incorporating his painting skills to decorate household items like pots. These products are later procured by Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) and several other organisations to be sold in the market.

With this earning, Chittaranjan takes care of his family despite being in jail. Other inmates are also taking inspiration from Chittaranjan and are reportedly learning art from him. The jail authorities are also providing him their support and encouraging him for pursuing his art.
