Odisha Government Bans This Diwali Ritual At Puri Srimandir Amid COVID

The Puri district administration on Monday (Nov 1), banned devotees from lighting the ‘Kaunriya Kathi’ around Jagannath Temple during Diwali, this year. The administration also banned the darshan of the Holy trinity by the devotees during the festival and also informed that strict restrictions will be imposed around the temple that day. To enforce these restrictions, section 144 will be clamped around the Srimandir.
