Lady teacher Mamita Meher missing case took rapid twists and turns on Tuesday, after a burnt body was found and the school managing committee president who had escaped from police custody, was apprehended.

In a shocking development earlier in the day, a body was found buried in an under-construction stadium at Mahaling in Bolangir district.

Later in the day, the prime suspect and president of Sunshine School's management committee, Gobinda Sahu, who escaped from police custody, was apprehended by police.

Bolangir Police nabbed Sahu from a sugarcane field at Budhipadar village in Bolangir on Tuesday evening after announcing a cash reward of Rs 1 Lakh for information regarding his whereabouts.

Meanwhile, as per Police sources, Mamita's family members have identified Mamita's belongings which were found with the burnt body which was recovered from the under-construction stadium.

The police have sent the body for DNA analysis in order to establish the identity.
