Forget commuting by a bus or any other vehicle, even walking seems difficult on this muddy road connecting Telkoi block and Harichandanpur block of Keonjhar district. The entire stretch has allegedly turned a death trap for commuters. These visuals show how a passenger bus stuck in the mud is pulled by a JCB machine, while passengers de-board and walk-wade to reach other side of the road.
In 2016, when Rural Development department started road construction work on the stretch, locals hoped that their commuting problems would be over soon. Five years have passed since, the reality pill is hard to digest. Forget completion, the construction work has not reached even halfway mark.
Situation during monsoon is worse as even a little downpour leaves the entire stretch in a pitiable condition. Crying for attention, the locals are frustrated over the inordinate delay of the construction work.
