The BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham, claimed as the world’s largest hand-carved Hindu temple outside India in the modern era is all set to be inaugurated for devotees in New Jersey on October 8. The majestic Mahamandir is dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan, a Hindu spiritual leader of the 19th century. The temple is situated 90 meters south of Times Square. The construction of the Mahamandir began in 2015 and it took 7 years to build it. Over 12,500 volunteers across the US were roped in for its construction.And finally, it will be inaugurated by Mahant Swami Swaraj and other dignitaries on October 8.
